The military aircraft, a V-22 Osprey, crashed while taking part in NATO maneuvers called Cold Response. There were four marines on board
An American military plane with four people on board crashed in northern Norway while taking part in NATO maneuvers called Cold Response. This was announced by the Norwegian Center for the Coordination of Reliefs (Jrcc), quoted by Reuters online. The V-22 Osprey of the Marine Corps was supposed to land around 19 Italian time, but it was lost track just before 18.30. The fate of the military on board is unknown, but a Jrcc spokesperson said the aircraft hit the ground while there was bad weather in the area. A helicopter spotted the plane, but due to bad weather it was unable to land. Police and rescuers are reaching the area by land, he explained.
